This was just an idea I had to see if I could recreate something like Brotato but in Scratch. 

Kill hundreds of enemies, upgrade your cannons, buy new equipment, repeat. Each wave lasts 60 seconds; kill as many enemies as you can in that time to get more credits. Use those credits to purchase equipment and upgrades. As the game goes on, the enemies get tougher, and more variants start to spawn. Get to round 30 and kill the Shogototh, the alien leader, to win.

The expected playtime for a successful run is 40 minutes. Quick mode (20 minute full game) gives double credits but half the time per round for those who don't have 40 minutes to spare.

Controls:

WASD to move, C to dash, and Space to shoot. Press R to rotate your cannons.

P to change audio settings, and K to skip the song playing.

Reload the page to restart.


TIPS:

- Make sure you either have enough damage to kill the Sprinters quickly, or can outrun them with speed!

- Having more damage/fire rate = more kills = much more money!

- For the most part, fire rate is the best thing to upgrade. Just keep your damage on par with the Walkers' health!

- If you stack up Health, Regen, and Shields, you can survive almost any attack!

- Make sure you stack up LOTS of health for the boss! He does a ton of damage!

- The three buyable cannon types are all objectively better than the normal one, so don't use the normal as your forward-facing cannon! Use "R" in battle or configure your cannons in the shop to change them.

Normal Upgrades:

- Speed: Increases movement speed greatly, and increases dash speed. Stacks to 10.

- Health: Increases the max health you start with at each round. Stacks infinitely.

- Damage: Increases the damage dealt to enemies. Stacks to 30.

- Fire Rate: Increases how fast your cannons fire. Stacks to 30.

- Dash: Increases dash length. Stacks to 10.

Equipment:

Utilities:

- Shield: Grants a chance to block incoming damage. Stacks 5 times. When maxed, there is a 50% chance to block damage. Adds 5 maximum health if bought while maxed.

- Double Dash: Allows the player to dash twice before waiting for the cooldown. Doesn't stack.

- Regen: Health regenerates over time. Stacks to 5. Each upgrade decreases the time between regenerating. Adds 5 maximum health if bought while maxed.

- Defend: Dashing grants immunity for 0.5s. Doesn't stack.

- Sacrifice: Permanently half your health, but increase current damage and fire rate by 50%, and double the amount given by upgrades.

- Karma: Grants a 50% chance to get triple the money on a kill. Works on any enemy. Doesn't stack.

- Bonus: Gain a scaling pile of credits at the start of each round. Stacks five times.

- Update: Increases the damage of all cannons by 100%. Doesn't stack.

- Sentry: Spawn a sentry turret that shoots at random enemies. Doesn't stack.

Cannons:

- Normal Cannon: Cannot be purchased. You start with this basic cannon.

- Explosive Cannon: Adds a cannon to the player that shoots cannonballs that explode. Doesn't stack.

- Quick Cannon: Adds a cannon to the player that shoots cannonballs that travel faster, and has faster fire rate. Doesn't stack.

- Piercing Cannon: Adds a cannon to the player that shoots cannonballs that pierce. Doesn't stack.

ENEMY GUIDE:

Walkers

  • Slow, but can pile up fast. They do very little damage and move slowly, as well as having very little health compared to most of their counterparts.
  • Health: Round #+2
  • Damage: 3
  • Starting Round: 1

Sprinters

  • Fast, but come in groups. They do very little damage and move quickly, as well as having average health compared to most of their counterparts.
  • Health: Round #*4
  • Damage: 3
  • Starting Round: 5

Sentries

  • Unmoving, only one can exist at a time. They do very high damage and don’t move at all, as well as taking only a single hit to die.
  • Health: 1
  • Damage: 10 
  • Starting Round: 10

Brutes

  • Giant, hulking behemoths. They do high damage and move at a normal pace, as well as having immense health.
  • Health: Round #*6
  • Damage: 5
  • Starting Round: 15

Drills

  • A marvel of alien machinery. Incredibly slow, but do unbelievably high damage and have unfathomably high health.
  • Health: Round #*15
  • Damage: 20
  • Starting Round: 20

Shogototh

  • The god of the aliens, only the strongest warrior can defeat him. Known for his speed, relentless ranged attacks, and fortitude. Only arrives once his legions have thinned out.
  • Health: 7,500
  • Damage: 10
  • Starting Round: 30
